The village of Vailoa Aleipata today successfully completed local implementation activities under the Tsunami Ready Recognition Programme (TRRP), marking another important milestone in Samoa’s ongoing efforts to strengthen community resilience to tsunami hazards. 
Throughout the day, community members worked alongside technical officers from the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MNRE), through the Disaster Management Office (DMO) and the Samoa Meteorological Service, to enhance local preparedness through a series of practical activities. 
The programme included community consultations, tsunami risk awareness sessions, validation of evacuation routes, identification of safe assembly areas, and a review of local warning and emergency response arrangements. 
These activities ensure that the community is better equipped to respond quickly and effectively should a tsunami occur.
