BUILDING PROFESSIONAL CAPACITY WITHIN THE FORESTRY DIVISION – JUNE 24, 2026

As part of a month-long capacity-building programme facilitated by the Legal Services and Policy Division, the Forestry Division staff participated in a training session held at the Ministryโs Learning Centre.


The training forms part of a series of sessions being conducted throughout June for various divisions, aimed at strengthening staff knowledge of relevant legislation, regulatory processes, compliance requirements, and enforcement procedures within their respective areas of responsibility.


This session provided Forestry officers with an opportunity to enhance their understanding of legal and, regulatory frameworks that support the sustainable management, conservation, and, protection of Samoaโs forest resources.


The discussions also covered practical aspects of compliance, investigations, evidence gathering, record keeping and, the application of relevant laws and policies.


The session encouraged active engagement and knowledge sharing, allowing participants to discuss experiences from the field, identify challenges and, explore practical approaches to strengthening their work.


Through ongoing professional development initiatives, the Ministry remains committed to strengthening the capacity of its workforce and supporting the effective management of Samoaโs natural resources.
