The village of Maasina today officially commenced local implementation of the Tsunami Ready Recognition Programme (TRRP), continuing the strong momentum of this critical resilience initiative across the Fagaloa district. 
Following successful rollouts in neighboring villages over the past week, Maasina has stepped up to further strengthen local disaster preparedness, risk awareness, and emergency response arrangements at the grassroots level. 
Throughout the day, village leaders, women’s committees, and youth groups worked side-by-side with government technical teams to complete the core components of the programme. 
The day’s efforts centered on intensive community consultations, evaluating local emergency response protocols, and mapping out critical evacuation paths to high ground tailored specifically to Maasina’s unique coastline.
