📍📍The village of Uafato today became the second community in Samoa to commence local implementation of the Tsunami Ready Recognition Programme (TRRP), following the inaugural village event held in Saletele earlier this week.
🤝 The programme aims to strengthen tsunami preparedness through improved community awareness, evacuation planning, warning systems, and emergency response arrangements.
👥 Community members, village leaders, government representatives, and partner organizations participated in discussions and activities focused on understanding tsunami risks and identifying practical measures to enhance local preparedness.
🏘️ The event forms part of Samoa’s ongoing efforts to support coastal communities in meeting internationally recognized Tsunami Ready indicators and building resilience to tsunami hazards.
👏 The Ministry and partner agencies acknowledges the strong commitment shown by the people of Uafato and encourages continued community participation as the programme expands to other villages across the country.
