๐Ÿ”ถ๐Ÿ”ถThe Nevada National Guard (NVNG) and the Independent State of Samoa (ISS) continue to strengthen their partnership established in July 2023 under the State Partnership Program (SPP), fostering ongoing military-to-civilian and civilian-to-civilian engagements with the Government of Samoa.
๐Ÿ”ถ๐Ÿ”ถThis collaboration is guided by a Whole-of-Government Approach (WGA), promoting enhanced coordination across agencies, stronger intergovernmental relationships, and the delivery of effective and seamless public services. The NVNG remains committed to supporting and facilitating engagement between officials from the State of Nevada and Samoa.
๐Ÿ”ถ๐Ÿ”ถThis week, Samoa hosts the Annual TAG Key Leadership Engagement (KLE), bringing together NVNG and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MNRE) to share knowledge and discuss priority areas for capacity building. Key discussions focus on strengthening disaster preparedness and prevention, as well as enhancing coordinated support during response and recovery efforts.
๐Ÿ”ถ๐Ÿ”ถThe MNRE Chief Executive Officer, Lealaisalanoa Frances Brown Reupena, alongside management and staff from the Disaster Management Office, hosted the NVNG delegation led by Major General D. Rodger Waters, Adjutant General.
๐Ÿ”ถ๐Ÿ”ถThe Ministry presented its Sector Plan Overview, disaster management functions and structure, and the roles of the Meteorology Office, along with proposed priority activities for FY2027โ€“2030 in collaboration with NVNG.
๐Ÿ”ถ๐Ÿ”ถThe engagement concluded with an exchange of appreciation between both leaders, marked by the presentation of cultural gifts from MNRE, symbolising the continued strength of the partnership.
