The Savai’i Farmers gathered to formally sign MoUs under the Farmer’s Grant component for the 3 Million Tree Planting Campaign (2022–2028).
🔺🔻The signing marks a significant step in strengthening partnerships between the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MNRE) and local farming communities. Through the Farmer’s Grant, participants will receive support to plant and nurture trees that protect forests, restore degraded lands, and build resilience against the impacts of climate change.
🔺🔻The farmers expressed their commitment to the campaign’s vision, noting that tree planting not only safeguards the environment but also enhances livelihoods and community wellbeing. MNRE officials highlighted that the initiative builds on the success of the One Million and Two Million Tree Campaigns, with Savai’i farmers now playing a central role in achieving the ambitious target of three million trees by 2028.
