The Waste Management and Pollution Control Division under MNRE, is solely responsible for the disposal and management of Hazardous Waste. Recognizing that protecting our environment is a shared effort, they invited various sectors, agencies, and stakeholders to a 2 day Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response Workshop.
By involving these diverse groups, the Waste Management team can tap into a wider network for early identification of potential hazards and ensure a more comprehensive understanding of the types and volumes of hazardous waste being generated across the nation.
Developed by the talented team at Global Vision Consortium and made possible through the generous support of the Secretariat of the Pacific Regional Environment Programme – SPREP through the PacWaste Project, the session focused on empowering various sectors, agencies, and stakeholders to identify hazardous waste and understand the correct notification procedures for the dedicated Waste Management team.
