Today, we had the incredible honor of closing off King Charles III’s official site visits for CHOGM 2024 with a visit to the beautiful Vailima Botanic Garden. Hosting His Majesty’s site visits has been truly special!

In a short but touching ceremony, a memorial plaque made of stone was unveiled, and dedicated to the King’s lifelong commitment to environmental stewardship. The event exemplifies the
Commonwealth Vision of : “One Resilient Common Future: Transforming our Common Wealth”.

During His Majesty’s visit, He planted a ‘talafalu’ seedling as a token of his support to Samoa’s environmental conservation and environmental programs such as The
ThreeMillion Trees Samoa Campaign and the Carbon Offset Program launched October 24, 2024.

This lasting gesture reflects our hopes for a sustainable future and the enduring bond between our nations.
The King walked through parts of the Botanic Garden re-development works and took time to engage in discussions with MNRE staff.
Thank you, Your Majesty, for your dedication and inspiration!
