Today, we had the incredible honor of closing off King Charles III’s official site visits for CHOGM 2024 with a visit to the beautiful Vailima Botanic Garden. Hosting His Majesty’s site visits has been truly special! 🌸✨
🌸In a short but touching ceremony, a memorial plaque made of stone was unveiled, and dedicated to the King’s lifelong commitment to environmental stewardship. The event exemplifies the Commonwealth Vision of : “One Resilient Common Future: Transforming our Common Wealth”.
🌳During His Majesty’s visit, He planted a ‘talafalu’ seedling as a token of his support to Samoa’s environmental conservation and environmental programs such as The ThreeMillion Trees Samoa Campaign and the Carbon Offset Program launched October 24, 2024. 🌳💚 This lasting gesture reflects our hopes for a sustainable future and the enduring bond between our nations.
The King walked through parts of the Botanic Garden re-development works and took time to engage in discussions with MNRE staff.
Thank you, Your Majesty, for your dedication and inspiration!
