The Division of Environment and Conservation, participated in a focused training on evidence at the MNRE Learning Center on September 11, 2026.

The training aimed to strengthen officers knowledge and practical understanding of the processes involved in gathering, documenting, assessing and presenting evidence in relation to environmental compliance and enforcement matters.
Particular attention was given to the importance of properly collected and documented evidence in supporting environmental investigations and enforcement actions. Officers also strengthened their understanding of preparing briefs of evidence, compiling evidence to provide sound advice, and progressing matters for prosecution where appropriate under relevant environmental legislation.
The training forms part of the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the capacity of officers responsible for environmental protection, compliance and enforcement, ensuring that environmental matters are managed professionally and in accordance with relevant legal and procedural requirements.
