The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MNRE), through its Division of Environment and Conservation, conducted a community consultation with Falealupo as part of the development of an Invasive Alien Species (IAS) Management Plan.

The consultation brought together village representatives to discuss practical and sustainable approaches to managing invasive alien species while promoting community participation in protecting the village’s natural environment.


This consultation was conducted under the GEF-7 Invasive Alien Species Project, under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MNRE) with support from
UNDP. The initiative demonstrates the ongoing commitment of MNRE, UNDP, and the people of Falealupo to safeguarding Samoa’s biodiversity

, strengthening biosecurity efforts, and building resilient ecosystems for present and future generations.
