Day 3 of National Environment Week 2026 was a powerful reminder of the importance of caring for the natural systems that sustain life in Samoa. Todayβs Water, Forests and Wetlands Day brought together our partners, stakeholders, schools and youth groups in a shared effort to raise awareness and take meaningful action for the environment.

Throughout the day, participants reflected on the close connection between people and nature and the responsibility we all hold in protecting and conserving Samoaβs forests, water resources and wetlands. The activities encouraged stronger understanding of how everyday actions contribute to the long-term health of our environment.

The day was filled with energy and creativity as schools took part in speech competitions, while youth groups delivered inspiring songs and skits that highlighted environmental awareness and care for natural resources. Each performance reflected the passion and commitment within our communities to protect the environment.

The nationwide National Tree Planting initiative further strengthened this message, as participants actively contributed to restoring green spaces and supporting a more sustainable future. Each tree planted represented hope, growth and a continued commitment to environmental stewardship.

At St. Peter Chanel Primary School in Moamoa Fou, the Forests and Water School Awareness Program provided students with hands-on learning experiences through presentations and field experiments. These activities helped deepen their understanding of environmental protection and inspired curiosity about the natural world.

Faβafetai tele lava to all our partners, stakeholders, schools, youth groups and supporters for your continued commitment and participation in making today a success.
