πŸ“’πŸ“’Today’s training was delivered to the Waste Management and Pollution Control Division (WMPCD) and focused on enhancing officers’ understanding of the proper enforcement and investigation processes when responding to waste related offences such as illegal dumping, open burning, pollution incidents, and other violations of environmental legislation.
πŸ“”πŸ“”The training covered the key stages of enforcement, from initial response and evidence gathering through to prosecution, while reinforcing the powers, duties, and responsibilities of officers under the relevant legal framework. It also provided an opportunity for officers to share practical experiences and challenges encountered in the field, helping to promote consistency in the application of enforcement procedures and strengthen the Division’s capacity to effectively carry out its regulatory functions in accordance with the law.
