PACIFIC RESILIENCE PROGRAM MEETING

Participants of the 3rd Coordination Meeting for the Pacific Resilience Program.

 

The Chief Executive Officer, Ulu Bismarck Crawley lead the Samoa delegation to the 3rd Coordination Meeting for the Pacific Resilience Program (PREP) held in the Kingdom of Tonga, Nukualofa on October 23 – 24, 2018.

The meeting provided an opportunity for all PREP projects to learn from the Mid-Term Review conducted and reported of ongoing project progress, and to enable countries to strengthen strategic and operational approaches for further project implementation. As well as to identify a new strategic approach to strengthen its implementation on the national and regional level. The participants of the meeting included PREP focal points and implementing agency representatives for the countries such as Samoa, Tonga, Vanuatu, coordination and support units of the program from the Pacific Secretariat (SPC), the Pacific Islands Forum (PIF) and the World Bank.

Samoa presented on its key highlights and achievements of the program since its commencement, stressing the importance of working together of all stakeholders involved in the program, all partners to strengthen and improve on its approaches in moving the project forward taking into account the messages and lessons learnt from the mid-term review.

Samoa acknowledged the Kingdom of Tonga for hosting the meeting and the coordination and support units for the organisation and arrangements of the meeting.
