Launching of the National Environment Sector Communications Strategy 2022 – 2026

Acting Chief Executive Officer, Afioga Tagaloa Shirley Tuagalu and Director General of SPREP, Afioga Leota Kosi Latu officially launched the National Environment Sector Communications Strategy 2022 – 2026 on Wednesday 18th November 2020 at the Taumeasina Resort.  In her key remarks, Tagaloa emphasized that the “…engagement of such a complex network of players requires effective communication strategies, systems, and processes to as to convey and achieve results towards enhanced environmental sustainability and climate resilience”.   In his remarks, Leota reiterated the importance of “simple and clear communication” and making sure that our people are “getting the right information at the right time”.     The development of the Strategy was financed by SPREP through its INFORM Project.   The Strategy provides an overarching 5-year framework for a more cohesive and coordinated platform to strengthen communications and knowledge management across the sector.   It consists of 28 actions to achieve its 3 objectives from 2022 to 2026. Total resourcing needs required for the full implementation of the Strategy is estimated at SAT$4,295,000.00.
