The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MNRE), through its Climate Change and Information Communication Technology Divisions, successfully conducted the Samoa Global Environment Facility (GEF) Dashboard Training and Handover Workshop on 25 September 2026 at the Ministry\u2019s Learning Centre.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
The workshop was supported by the \u201cFinancial and Training Support to the GEF OFP\u2019s in the Pacific Region on Project Oversight\u201d project through the SPREP<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><\/span>. It brought together designated representatives from relevant MNRE divisions as part of efforts to strengthen institutional capacity in the management, accessibility and oversight of information on GEF projects in Samoa.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
The GEF Dashboard, developed by BitSolution IT Consulting, has been designed to strengthen access to project information, support progress monitoring and data sharing, and enhance portfolio oversight.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
The training provided the Ministry with practical experience in navigating and using the GEF Dashboard, including updating project information, managing data quality and understanding key responsibilities for its ongoing maintenance.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
The workshop also strengthened the Ministry\u2019s capacity to better manage and utilize GEF project information to support Samoa\u2019s environmental and climate change priorities.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
An important component of the session was the formal handover of the Dashboard and associated materials to the Ministry, marking a significant step towards ensuring the system\u2019s continued use and sustainability beyond the consultancy period.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The Ministry extends its appreciation to GEF and SPREP for its valuable support, and to BitSolution IT Consulting for its technical expertise and contribution to the development of the GEF Dashboard.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
