The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MNRE), through its Disaster Management Office (DMO), successfully hosted the national stakeholder validation workshop for the Pacific Risk Tool for Resilience Programme Phase 3 (PaRTneR 3) at the Lava Hotel in Sogi.\u00a0<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Building on the foundation laid during the initial national scoping sessions on August 11, 2026, this validation workshop marked a major step forward. \u00a0The key representatives across disaster risk management, climate change, meteorology, and partner sectors gathered to review and finalize the national priorities that will drive this next crucial phase.\u00a0<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

While Phases 1 & 2 established baseline risk products and rapid impact assessment tools, Phase 3 is all about scaling up, expanding reach, and embedding national ownership. \u00a0The goal is to ensure that reliable, data-driven risk information directly guides decision-making across every sector, strengthening early warnings, improving preparedness, and building long-term climate resilience to protect Samoa’s communities.\u00a0<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

This milestone collaborative effort is jointly delivered by the Pacific Community (SPC) and Earth Sciences New Zealand, working side-by-side with our DMO team to ensure the programme aligns directly with Samoa\u2019s national priorities and institutional needs.\u00a0<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
