\"\u26d1\ufe0f\"<\/span>\"\u26d1\ufe0f\"<\/span>The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MNRE), through its Water and Sanitation Sector Coordination Division, successfully conducted a First Aid Training programme for representatives of the WASH Sector and MNRE staff from various divisions as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen emergency preparedness and workplace safety.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\ud83d\udea8\"<\/span>\"\ud83d\udea8\"<\/span>The training aimed to equip participants with essential first aid knowledge and practical life-saving skills necessary to effectively respond to emergencies both in office settings and during field operations. The key topics covered throughout the programme included introduction to first aid, primary assessment, identifying hazards and appropriate response measures, adult CPR, choking, drowning, and other emergency response procedures.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

\"\ud83d\udca1\"<\/span>\"\ud83d\udca1\"<\/span>The programme provided participants with valuable hands-on learning experiences to strengthen their confidence and readiness in responding to real-life emergency situations. Given the nature of work carried out across the WASH Sector and Ministry divisions, first aid knowledge remains an important skill in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of staff, communities, and stakeholders.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

\"\ud83d\udccd\"<\/span>\"\ud83d\udccd\"<\/span>Throughout the training, participants actively engaged in discussions and practical learning sessions that enhanced their understanding of emergency response procedures and the importance of timely first aid assistance in critical situations.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

\"\ud83d\udccc\"<\/span>\"\ud83d\udccc\"<\/span>The Ministry acknowledges with sincere appreciation the valuable support and technical expertise provided by the Samoa Red Cross Society<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><\/span> in facilitating the training programme and sharing their knowledge with participants. The Ministry also extends its gratitude to all participants from the WASH Sector: Ministry of Health<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><\/span>, Ministry of Works, Transport and Infrastructure<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><\/span>, Land Transport Authority<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><\/span>, Samoa Water Authority and MNRE Divisions for their active engagement and commitment throughout the programme. Initiatives such as these continue to strengthen collaboration, enhance staff capacity, and promote a safer and more prepared working environment across the sector.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
