The Government of Samoa through the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MNRE) officially receives fifteen (15) Home Biogas Systems from the Government of Israel during an official handover ceremony held at the National Emergency Operation Center (NEOC) at Tuanaimato.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The donation represents a significant step forward in the partnership between Samoa and Israel, reflecting shared values, mutual trust and a commitment to promoting sustainable, community-based energy solutions.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

In his keynote address, the Minister for MNRE, Honourable Ale Vena Ale stated: ” Our continued reliance on imported fossil fuels places significant pressure on both our economy and our environment. He further highlighted \u201cBiogas technology represents an important addition to our ongoing efforts. By converting organic waste into clean, renewable gas, these systems not only provide a sustainable source of energy for households but also improve waste management, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and enhance livelihoods, particularly in our rural communities.”<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The Minister emphasized that the donation comes at a pivotal time as Samoa pursues its transition to a low-carbon, climate-resilient economy. The integration of Home Biogas Systems complements the nation\u2019s existing renewable energy portfolio, which includes wind, solar, and hydropower, thereby strengthening energy security and sustainability at both household and community levels. The initiative also supports Samoa\u2019s Third Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) and the national target of 70 percent renewable energy use by 2031.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

These systems will bring sustainable, renewable energy directly to communities across Samoa.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
