National Toilet Day Commemoration 2018

Commemoration of the 7th National Toilet Day commenced today at the Samoa Convention Center hosted by The Water & Sanitation Sector and PUMA. This year’s theme is “Innovative Solutions for Water and Sanitation in Samoa”.

MNRE Chief Executive Officer, Ulu Bismarck Crawley officially welcomed the participating public sectors, distinguished guests and members of the public. Honorable Taefu Lemi Taefu, MNRE Associate Minister, delivered the keynote address on the importance of sanitation, hygiene and maintaining the cleanliness of our toilet facilities.

In compliance with National Toilet Day, Honorable Taefu Lemi Taefu launched two Garden Toilets; one in Lepa, Aleipata and the other in Saleaula, Savaii.

The second half of the program consisted of a short Speech Competition on the Theme: “Innovative Solutions for Water and Sanitation in Samoa’.
